This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you interact with us through our website (europeantechnical.ae), our online booking system, your customer account, or when you use any of our home maintenance services.

This policy is governed by the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, “PDPL”) and all other applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates. By using our website or services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

  • Legal compliance: To comply with our legal obligations under UAE law, including tax regulations, record-keeping requirements, and any lawful requests from government authorities.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Assigned technician: When a booking is confirmed, we share your name, contact number, and service address with the technician assigned to your job. This is necessary for the technician to contact you and locate your property.
  • Payment processors: Your payment information is shared with our payment processing partners (including Stripe and our banking providers) solely for the purpose of processing your transaction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

Customer account and service records are retained for a period of three (3) years following the date of your last service with us. After this period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.

Payment and transaction records are retained for a minimum of five (5) years in accordance with UAE tax law and financial record-keeping requirements under Federal Law No. 8 of 2017 (UAE VAT Law) and related regulations.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your browsing experience and help us understand how visitors use our site.

We use two types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: These are necessary for the website to function correctly. They enable core features such as navigation, booking forms, and session management. These cookies cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): These help us understand how visitors interact with our website, which pages are most popular, and where users encounter difficulties. The data collected is anonymised and aggregated.

You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect your ability to use some features of our website.

8. WhatsApp & SMS Communications

We use WhatsApp Business and SMS to communicate with customers regarding their bookings, including appointment confirmations, technician dispatch notifications, arrival alerts, and follow-up messages.

By providing your phone number when making a booking or creating an account, you consent to receiving service-related WhatsApp and SMS messages from European Technical. These communications are directly related to the services you have requested and are necessary for effective service delivery.

If you do not wish to receive communications via WhatsApp or SMS, you may opt out by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that opting out of service notifications may affect our ability to keep you informed about your booking.

9. Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, alteration, or disclosure.

Specific security measures we employ include:

  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS/SSL).
  • Access controls: Access to personal data is restricted to authorised staff who require it to perform their duties.
  • Regular security reviews: We conduct periodic reviews of our security practices and infrastructure to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by UAE law.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18. If you believe that we may have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take prompt steps to delete such data.

11. International Data Transfers

Some of the third-party service providers we use, including cloud hosting and analytics providers, may store and process data on servers located in the European Union or the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UAE, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place.

For transfers to the European Union, we rely on the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission. For transfers to the United States, we ensure that recipients adhere to recognised data protection frameworks or equivalent contractual safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you a direct notification via email or SMS.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your data. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
