Jumeirah Golf Estates is a district of large villas, typically four to seven bedrooms and anywhere from 4,000 to over 10,000 sqft, set on plots with gardens and pools. Most were built between 2010 and 2020, so the outdoor areas are established, with paving, planting and pool surrounds already in place. A pergola here is almost always fitted around those features, not onto an empty plot.

Because the gardens are mature, the first job is working out what sits under the ground where the posts need to go. Pool pipework, irrigation lines and the edge of the pool structure all limit where a post can stand, so we mark the layout and check it before any drilling starts. Problems tend to come from structures sized for looks and not for the span. A wide frame with thin sections will sag or shift within a summer or two. Strong sun also fades cheap coatings and warps thin timber, so the finish and the fixings matter as much as the frame itself.

Access needs planning on a plot this size. Long beams and posts have to reach the garden, so we agree the delivery route with you in advance, whether that is a side passage or through the house. A fixed structure may need approval, and the owners association or building management is the right place to ask before work begins. Homes around the Earth and Fire golf clubs and the Clubhouse are residential, so we agree working hours that suit the household and keep the site tidy between visits.

On price, installation starts from AED 4000. For villas, the figures are AED 10600 for a 2BR, AED 13400 for a 3BR, AED 16000 for a 4BR and AED 19400 for a 5BR. Since many homes in the estate have four bedrooms or more, most owners will sit in the upper part of that range. Six and seven bedroom homes are priced after we have seen the plot. Materials are quoted separately, because the choice of timber, aluminium or fabric changes the total more than the labour does. The work carries a 90 day warranty.
