Fairway Vistas is a sub-community of Dubai Hills Estate, and most smart lock jobs here begin the same way. A resident has bought a lock online or from a shop and wants it fitted properly on the front door. We install locks that you supply. The flat fee is AED 250, the visit takes about 60 minutes, and any materials are quoted separately before we start.

Doors differ from one house to the next, so we look at the one you actually have rather than assuming. A main entrance can be a heavy solid door, while a side or garden door may be lighter, narrower or partly glazed. Each of these affects which smart lock will sit correctly and how much preparation the door needs before the lock goes on.

Most problems come from a mismatch between the lock and the door. The boxed lock may expect a different door thickness or backset, or the cut-out for the old lock may be the wrong size. Doors that have dropped slightly on their hinges leave the latch and strike plate out of line, and a motorised deadbolt then strains every time it turns. Dubai heat and humidity make this worse, because timber and frames move through the year. Weak Wi-Fi at the front door is another common cause of a lock that will not pair with its app. We check alignment and signal before we fix anything in place.

Access is usually simple, since we work at your own front door. Someone should be home so that we can set up codes, fingerprints or app access with you present. If your building management or owners association asks for contractor details in advance, send them our visit time when you book and we will confirm what they need. Allow an hour, and a little longer if the door needs adjusting first.

On cost, the AED 250 flat fee covers the fitting and setup visit. Extra parts such as longer screws, a replacement strike plate or a spacer are the only things that can add to it, and we price them before we fit anything, so you approve the total in advance.
